A very funny novel and a very original reinterpretation of Blue Beard. The story begins with a young woman renting a room in Paris at the home of an eccentric Spanish aristocrat, whose former tenants have disappeared. It's short, strange, dark and full of Nothomb's quick and absurd dialogues.
