Evaristo Babé Ayuso
I have spent my whole career building technology companies. Today I am CEO and co-founder of Pulpo and PulpoPay, where I spend much of my time. I am interested in how technology and artificial intelligence can solve real problems and help companies work better.
Outside work, I try to spend as much time as I can with family and friends. I read a lot and, when I travel, I tend to explore cities on foot and try cafés and restaurants along the way. I find it hard to leave a curiosity alone: some last an afternoon, while others end up occupying me for years.
Pulpo & PulpoPay
Pulpo helps companies manage vehicles, drivers, maintenance, fuel, documents and expenses. PulpoPay lets them control fleet payments, decide how each card may be used, and understand in real time where and why money is being spent.
We work with hundreds of companies in Mexico and Spain. We connect operations, payments, data and artificial intelligence to automate tasks and simplify day-to-day management.
I have been lucky to do it alongside exceptional co-founders, great teams, investors who trusted us and first-rate customers. I owe much of what I have built and learned to them.
In 2010 I founded SinDelantal with Diego. The company grew in Spain and Mexico before being acquired by Just Eat. Today, almost all my energy goes into Pulpo and PulpoPay, together with Javier.
Outside work, I try to spend as much time as I can with my family, especially my parents, sisters and nieces. With friends, I love wandering through a city, finding hidden corners, trying cafés and restaurants, travelling and repeating the same jokes for years. I also need to have the sea nearby.

I have worked with companies and leadership teams in advisory sessions, workshops and talks about entrepreneurship, technology, artificial intelligence, innovation and decision-making, for organisations including Bayer, Nestlé, Guardian Glass and Engen Capital. I have also appeared on podcasts and at events in several countries.

The Meridian Project
I am writing a book about how we learned to measure the world, organise time and decide where each day begins.
It is a story of sailors, astronomers, empires, shipwrecks, railway accidents and imaginary lines that ended up organising everybody’s lives. The project has taken me into archives, across maps and to places where some of history’s great intellectual adventures happened.
