A great book that I enjoyed enormously. It is García Márquez’s first book set in Macondo. In a Colombian town a century ago, the local doctor, hated by its inhabitants, dies. The novel follows one family’s struggle to give him a dignified burial despite the community’s opposition, while explaining how the situation reached that point.
